Member of Knesset Oded Forer (Yisrael Beytenu) has filed a petition with the Supreme Court against the Attorney General and the State Attorney over the fact that they did not launch an investigation against MK Jamal Zahalka (Joint List), who spoke against the symbols of the State of Israel and called for bloodshed.
In a television interview last December, Zahalka said that he "prefers to die than to sing the Israeli anthem," and that the Israeli flag was "worse than a rag." Zahalka told the residents of the Negev Bedouin town of Umm Al-Hiran in 2015 that "if blood is to be shed, so be it."
