The Police Internal Investigations Department has announced that starting on Monday, it will begin investigating allegations of violence against demonstrators in Haifa who expressed solidarity with Gazans on Friday.
Jafar Farah, director of the Mossawa (Equality) Center for the Rights of Arab Citizens, was one of 21 people arrested at the demonstration, which the police described as a riot, and Knesset members filed a complaint on his behalf following his associates' claim that he had broken his leg during his arrest or during his interrogation. The police said there was no evidence, so far, to connect Farah's injury to an arrest, adding that all the arrests were carried out according to law and procedure.
