The Knesset Ethics Committee has removed Members of Knesset Michal Biran and Stav Shafir (Zionist Union) for a week from plenum and committee deliberations for epithets directed at Member of Knesset Oren Hazan (Likud) during a Knesset Finance Committee discussion in November. The exclusion does not apply to votes.
Biran called Hazan a "pimp" and Shafir yelled "corrupt, corrupt" at him. Part of the severity of the punishment of the two MKs stems from the fact that they refused to apologize.
