The Lod District Court sentenced 22-year-old Shatila Abu-Iyada of the central Israeli Arab town of Kafr Kasem to 16 years in prison on Tuesday for a stabbing a woman in the hand in the Rosh Haayin industrial zone last April.
According to the indictment, Abu-Iyada was motivated by the murder of Jerusalem Arab teen Muhamad Abu-Khdeir in 2014 and the arson deaths of members of a family in the Samarian Palestinian Authority village of Duma a year later. She attempted the stabbing after failing to construct a bomb.
