A Syrian mortar shell hit an open area of a kibbutz about a kilometer from the Israeli-Syrian border in the northern Golan Heights, Monday evening.
No injuries or damage were reported. The shelling appears to be spillover from Syria's civil war. Although a ceasefire went into effect at 7:00 pm, local time, it does not affect fighting between Syrian government forces and jihadist rebels.
