The Police Investigations Division, led by the Police Commissioner, is examining statements made before the media recently by Professor Amir Hetzroni against members of the Sephardic community in order determine if they constitute a criminal offense.
Police clarified that the right to open an investigation on incitement falls within prosecutorial discretion.
