(IsraelNationalNews.com) Five former members of the Israel-allied Southern Lebanese Army were sentenced to death in absentia by a Lebanese military court on Thursday. The other former SLA combatants were sentenced to prison terms of between three and six years.



Since the unilateral IDF troop withdrawal from southern Lebanon in May 2000, Lebanese courts have sentenced over 2,400 former SLA combatants.
