Fourteen United States embassies in and consulates in the Middle East and other Arab countries that will be closed to the public on Sunday, according to a Friday-morning report by the Columbia Broadcasting System. The closures were announced by the State Department on Thursday, after intelligence was received of an Al-Qaeda threat to attack an American diplomatic mission.
The Tel Aviv embassy is always closed on Sunday, as is the consulate in Jerusalem.
