(IsraelNN.com) IDF officials released the following information regarding the two fatal shooting attacks at Ziff Junction in the Southern Hevron Hills district on Friday evening. The information is based on the investigation at the scene following the attacks.
On Friday evening close to 6:00pm, a vehicle with a Hevron area resident was caught in crossfire, the result of a terrorist ambush. One occupant of the vehicle, Elad Liebowitz, was murdered. The vehicle continued towards Kiryat Arba seeking assistance. On the way, the occupants spotted the vehicle of the Dikstein vehicle heading towards the junction, signaling them to stop.
Unfortunately, the occupants of the vehicle did not comprehend what was taking place and continued to Ziff Junction where they too were targeted by gunfire from both sides of the road. Murdered were Yossi Dikstein, 45, his wife Chana, 42, and their son Shuva\'el Tzion, 9. Injured in the attack were Shlomo 12, and Shir\'el, 2.
The terrorists then fled to nearby Yatah, under control of the PA.
Yesha (Judea, Samaria, & Gaza) Council officials are calling on the government to take immediate action and deport the residents of Yatah and destroy the PA village as a sign to the terrorists and an example that the murderous actions would no longer be tolerated by Israel.
