Aside from being concerned about Israeli democracy, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is also concerned about the treatment of women in Israel. Speaking to the Saban Forum over the weekend, Clinton said that she was concerned over the emergence of debate over “mehadrin” buses, where women and men sit separately. Clinton said that the issue “reminds me of Rosa Parks,” a black woman who refused to move to the back of the bus in Alabama in 1955, setting off a major effort against segregation.

Clinton said she also concerned about the debate over religious IDF soldiers leaving the room when females sing, saying that it reminded her of life in Iran.
