Texas Governor Rick Perry, considered by many to be the favorite as Republican candidate for President, lost out in a straw poll of popularity among candidates in Florida over the weekend. Perry came in second, at 15.43%, while the winning candidate was Herman Cain, with 37.11%.

Michele Bachmann, who scored a high profile straw poll victory in Iowa six weeks ago, did not participate, but her support in Florida was estimated at less than 2%.
