The U.S. State Department issued a travel warning Thursday, in which it called upon all American citizens currently staying in Syria to leave the country immediately due to the violent clashes taking place there.
“The U.S. Department of State urges U.S. citizens in Syria to depart immediately while commercial transportation is available,” the travel warning reads.
