Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas thanked Norway on Monday for upgrading the PA's delegation in Oslo. The PA delegation was given the status of a full diplomatic mission in Norway over the weekend.
At a news conference with Norwegian officials over the weekend, Abbas said that “we have chosen peace, and we are continuing to seek ways to arrange a deal with Israel through negotiations.” He added that “our people have been suffering for 63 years, and because of this we will ask the UN to recognize our state.”
