Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu leaves for Italy Sunday for a 25 hour visit, in which he will try to persuade Rome not to support the PA's bid for an independent state in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem in September at the UN. Netanyahu will meet with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
As in other meetings with EU member countries, Netanyahu is expected to stress the importance of negotiations as the only way to achieve a settlement of the Middle East conflict.
