Some 50 million Turks are expected to go to the polls Sunday in an election that is likely to see current  Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan elected to another term – this time for 12 years. The vote on Erdogan's reelection coincides with a vote to change the country's constitution to allow the Prime Minister to serve a much longer term than he currently does, in order to ensure governmental stability.

Other constitutional changes will include provisions to ensure the rights of the country's minorities, including Jews.
