French President Nicholas Sarkozy will continue to work for the release of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, a top advisor to Sarkozy said Sunday night. Speaking at a meeting of the Friends of the Netanya Academic College in France, Valerie Hoffenberg said that France would continue doing what it could to get Shalit released.

Hoffenberg said that it was France's responsibility to help, as Shalit was also a French citizen.
