Saudi Arabia is the largest foreign government to make a contribution to the foundation run by former United States President Bill Clinton, according to figures disclosed by the foundation Thursday. The figures were released to avoid conflict of interest charges against Clinton's wife Hillary, ahead of hearings to confirm her as Secretary of State in the cabinet of President-elect Barack Obama.
The Saudis contributed between 10 and 25 million dollars to the Clinton presidential library in Arkansas, where he was governor before becoming president. Israeli-American media mogul Haim Saban donated between five and ten million dollars.
