The Liba Center welcomes Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to establish a commission of inquiry to examine the New Israel Fund's (NIF) activities.

The Liba Center, which works to strengthen Judaism in Israel, said the NIF is working to change the Jewish character of the state and to turn Israel into a state of all its citizens. "This is its purpose and that's where it invests most of the funds, in the various organizations acting on its behalf."

North America Reform Movement President Rick Jacobs attacked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu following cancellation of the agreement with the United Nations regarding infiltrators and his decision to establish a parliamentary committee to investigate the activities of the New Israel Fund.

"Shocked & angered by PM Netanyahu’s attacks on New Israel Fund, which for decades has been a trusted champion of an Israel embodying the prophetic ideals of our Jewish tradition, including economic justice, religious freedom, human rights & more," tweeted Jacobs.

Yesterday Netanyahu stated it was the New Israel Fund that had torpedoed the agreements with Rwanda regarding the expulsion of the Israeli filters.

"The main factor that put European pressure on the Rwandan government to withdraw from the agreement to remove the infiltrators from Israel is the New Israel Fund," Netanyahu said.

"The New Israel Fund is a foreign organization that receives funding from foreign governments and entities hostile to Israel such as the George Soros funds, whose goal is to erase Israel's Jewish identity and turn it into a state of all its citizens, alongside a Palestinian national state free of Jews on the 1967 lines with Jerusalem as its capital," added the Prime Minister.

NIF is reportedly considering suing the Prime Minister of Israel for slander.
