A 90-year-old man drowned on Monday morning at Haifa's Bat Galim beach, and was pulled out of the water by citizens who came to fish in the area.

Magen David Adom paramedics administered first aid and attempted to revive the victim, but were forced to declare his death.

MDA paramedic Roman Kovzan, who was at the scene, said, "Civilians who came to fish saw a ninety-year-old man lying unconscious in the water. They dragged him to the beach and performed basic CPR."

"We administered medical treatment at the scene, and used advanced resuscitation techniques, including medications, artificial respiration, and massage, but unfortunately we were forced to declare his death."

Two weeks ago, a 60-year-old man drowned at Tel Aviv's Jerusalem Beach. Last week, a 42-year-old father of fifteen drowned in the Jordan River.
