The Anti-Defamation League expressed deep sadness following the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas on Saturday, which left 20 dead and more than two dozen injured, in what police are investigating as a possible hate crime.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said, "We ache for the victims, their families and the entire community of El Paso but thoughts & prayers are inadequate. We need strategies and resources to confront hate and address extremism." He added, "ADL experts are also monitoring the mass shooting overnight in Dayton; at this time, there are no apparent ties to extremism. Our hearts are with the victims, their families and first responders."
