A hared pilot from the Borough Park area of Brooklyn suffered serious burns after his plane caught fire at a New Jersey airport.

According to officials from Linden Municipal Airport in Union County, New Jersey, Linden Emergency Dispatch was called about an airplane on fire on Sunday at 3:25 p.m., News12 New Jersey reported.

They found a 2003 fixed wing, single engine plane ablaze on the airport taxiway. The fire, which had engulfed the aircraft, was quickly put out by emergency crews.

The pilot was able to free himself from the plane but was seriously burned in the incident. He suffered severe burns to his arms and lower body, and was taken to St. Barnabas Burn Center.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
