Marc Zell, chairman of Republicans Overseas Israel, told Arutz Sheva on Wednesday that David Friedman, who President-elect Donald Trump has nominated to be the American ambassador to Israel, “is one of the most intelligent and competent lawyers in the United States. It’s been a pleasure working with him during the Trump campaign.”

Friedman, said Zell, is “the ideal choice for ambassador to Israel, and most importantly he’s been an intimate confidant of Donald Trump for more than 15 years. That’s what you want in an ambassador because his principle job is to present the points of view of the President and the Secretary of State to the country in which he serves.”

As for the possibility of the American embassy moving from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, as Trump has pledged to do during his campaign, Zell said, “I think the signs are very very good, for the first time in 70 years, that the United States embassy will finally be re-established in Jerusalem.”
