Israeli President Reuven Rivlin vowed that Israel would overcome the latest wave of terror attacks, which claimed the lives of three Israelis since Friday afternoon.

Speaking out following the stabbing attack Sunday afternoon which left 32-year-old Kochav Hashahar resident Adiel Kolman dead, Rivlin said the Jewish state would confront and defeat terrorism.

“Four more children lost their father last night,” the president said in a statement. “For the bereaved, the pain is unbearable. Thirty-two year old Adiel Kolman, who worked with dedication in the City of David excavations, was murdered yesterday in the Old City, in a brutal and abhorrent stabbing terror attack.”

“The terror on the streets of Jerusalem, our capital, where Jews and Arabs have lived together for hundreds of years, is a great disaster for all its inhabitants, and we will not allow it to become an existing reality. We will fight against terror and we will overcome.”

“Nechama and I send a warm embrace of comfort to Adiel’s widow, Ayelet, and their four young children, and send them strength as they face the difficult journey of life without Adiel.”

Kolman was stabbed repeatedly by 28-year-old Abed al-Rahman Bani Fa’adal, a resident of the Palestinian Authority-controlled town of Aqraba, near Shechem [Nabulus] in Samaria. Fa’adal then fled the scene of the attack, only to be shot and killed shortly thereafter by Israeli police officers.

The terrorist had been issued an entry permit by Israeli authorities, allowing him to enter sovereign Israeli territory to look for work, investigators said.

On Friday, an Arab terrorist ran down and killed two Israeli soldiers in northern Samaria, and injured two more. The murdered soldiers were identified as Captain Ziv Deus, 21, from the Azor Regional Council, and Sergeant Netanal Kahalani, 20, from the town of Eliakim.
