The Israel Security Agency and Israeli Police arrested a Bedouin Arab resident of Rahat in the Negev on Thursday, who was involved in transporting the terrorist behind the stabbing in Kiryat Gat on Saturday night into Israeli sovereign territory.

The terrorist, a resident of the village of Yatir near Hevron, was originally thought to have snuck into the Lachish district via holes in the existing fence.

But the suspect arrested Thursday - a citizen of Israel - has also been involved in smuggling over other Palestinian Arabs, in a revelation that raises questions about Israel's security measures.

Four people were moderately injured in the stabbing in Kiryat Gat, including a 51-year-old man, a 56-year-old woman, a 44-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl. They are being treated at Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.

The terrorist managed to flee the scene of the attack but was caught hours later hiding in the yard of a private house in Kiryat Gat.
