Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon on Monday blasted the Palestinian Authority (PA) for its continued incitement against Israel, as well as for its forming a unity government with the Hamas terrorist group.

"We are surrounded by bloodthirsty countries and organizations, dripping with hatred, who realized that the power and capabilities of the IDF will not allow them to act against Israel in a battle of army against army, so they turned to terrorism and rockets, missiles and delegitimization, and attempts to develop nuclear weapons," said Ya’alon, who spoke at a ceremony in memory of the fallen soldiers from the Nahal Brigade.

“If they could, they would exhaust Israeli citizens every day. If they had the ability, they would work on a daily basis against different targets, engage in terrorism and try to discourage us from living here. But they also know that we will fight back if need be, and cut off the hands of those who seek to hurt us,” declared Ya’alon, who said that there are tens of thousands of rockets directed towards northern and southern Israel and ready to be fired at any moment.

“We once again call on Arab nations and Palestinian leaders to sit down to the negotiating table, not to reject the outstretched hand of peace and brotherhood,” he said.

“But we will not compromise on our security nor will we allow sweet talk to deceive us, because alongside the allegedly moderate statements, Palestinian leaders continue the unprecedented incitement campaigns against Israel, both among the younger generation in their territory and among other nations. Just recently they made a pact with a terrorist organization that espouses the destruction of the State of Israel and calls to kill Jews because they are Jews,” declared Ya’alon.

Throughout the recent negotiations with Israel and long before it signed a unity pact with Hamas, the PA has continued to incite against Israel.

Incitement in the PA includes the glorification of Nazism and the lionization of Adolf Hitler, as well as programs on official PA television featuring heavily-stereotyped Jews as villains (and encouraging violence against them), and various TV and radio shows which literally wipe the Jewish state off the map.
