IDF forces patrolling the border with Egypt were targeted by fire from the Egyptian side on Monday. No injuries were reported in the incident, and further details are currently being investigated.

The soldiers were just north-west of Be'er Milka, located right on the border with Egypt to the south of Gaza, when they were shot at.

The Sinai peninsula has been a hotbed of terrorism, especially for Salafist terrorists and those aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The attack comes on the same day that an Egyptian court sentenced 529 Muslim Brotherhood members to death, over their support of ousted President Mohammed Morsi in clashes with the military. Morsi was deposed last July.
