President Obama landed at Ben Gurion International airport where he was welcomed by PM Netanyahu and President Peres. Following a tour of the Iron dome unit stationed at the airport, the President is traveling to Jerusalem by helicopter for an official reception at the Residence of President Peres, followed by a meeting at the PM’s home.

During his visit, President Obama will tour the Israel Museum and Yad VaShem in addition to placing a wreath at the tomb of former PM Yitzchak Rabin on Mt Herzl. He will also visit Ramallah and Bethlehem.

The White House stresses that there is no peace initiative to be presented by Obama. Main issues to be discussed will be the Iranian nuclear program, and Syrian deployment of chemical weapons.
