Terrorists in Gaza resumed aerial attacks Tuesday, hitting one vehicle and setting off a warning to Sderot area residents to stay home in the morning. No injuries were reported.

Two Kassam rockets exploded at a kibbutz, and Gaza-based terrorists also fired four mortar shells near Sderot, located between Be’er Sheva and Ashkelon. One parked car sustained damage.

The Islamic Jihad announced it was behind the mortar attacks, which it said were intended to strike an army outpost. The IDF has not yet retaliated but usually does so within 24 hours of terrorist strikes.

The de facto Hamas government in Gaza last month said it would impose a total ceasefire that would be honored by other terrorist groups, but the promise quickly was broken.

Attacks resumed and escalated, with advanced Grad missiles exploding last week at Ofakim and near a wedding in Netivot, two towns located near Sderot but usually out of range of Kassam rockets.
