The Islamic Jihad terrorist organization claims responsibility for the firing of short-range ('Kassam') rockets into Sderot on Wednesday afternoon.
Three people were injured in a light to medium condition from a rocket that exploded in a parking lot next to a bustling Sderot shopping center. The injured were transported by Magen David Adom to the Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. In addition, a number of residents were treated for shock.
The rocket that exploded in Sderot was one of nine Kassam rockets launched by Gazan terrorists into the western Negev during the afternoon hours.
Uzi Landau: Retaliate Against the Terrorists
In response to the Kassam attacks into Sderot, former Likud minister Uzi Landau stated that the
For every Kassam that is fired into Sderot, the IDF must launch two missiles into Jabalya.
IDF should retaliate by striking Jabalya, located in Gaza. “It’s time that the Israeli government should remove its gloves. Its policies must change. If there is fear in Sderot, there should be fright in Jabalya. The rule of Jabalya is the rule of Sderot. For every Kassam that is fired into Sderot, the IDF must launch two missiles into Jabalya. For every two Kassams in Sderot, Israel will launch four into Jabalya,” Landau stated.
“In addition, Hamas heads need to once again become an address for a targeted elimination, and the IDF needs to again take over the Philadelphi Corridor in order to end the smuggling of arms via the tunnels,” Landau added.
The Philaelphi Corridor separates Gaza from the Egyptian border. Former Southern Command chief Maj.-Gen. Yom-Tov Samia said Tuesday that the IDF must retake the Corridor and widen it by razing all structures that adjoin it.
