Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev vehemently attacked on Thursday an initiative on the left to enact a law that states that an indicted person cannot serve as prime minister.
Regev told public radio, "[The] Blue and White [Party] is doing everything to avoid Netanyahu staying in the system. They do not understand that they voted for him personally to have 36 seats. The Zionist majority is for him. [Blue and White Chairman Benny] Gantz and [Yisrael Beytenu Chairman Avigdor] Liberman mislead the public, most of them Jewish-Zionist." She concluded, "Blue and White said [before the last election campaign was declared -ed.] that they oppose the president's outline. So now they will be in favor? [Member of Knesset Ahmad] Tibi and Gantz's law should be shelved immediately. It's just election theft and a coup, it's a bill that overrides the majority's decision."
