The death of a woman about the age of 60 from the Eshkol Region in an accident on Route 232 near the Gevulot Junction has prompted Eshkol Regional Council Chairman Gadi Yarkoni to call on the Transportation Ministry to immediately acknowledge the serious infrastructure problem on the highway.

Yarkoni said, "For years we have beeen crying out over the danger of death called Route 232 and finding ourselves fighting for a fundamental right to travel in safety." He noted, "The state is stagnant and the most prominent sufferers are residents of the Gaza envelope can't enjoy being on the horizon of security quiet on the border and also no highway safety. He said new railroad cars were bought with money that should have gone to widening Route 232.
