Labor Party Chairman Amir Peretz has attacked National Union Party Chairman Bezalel Smotrich's proposal to apply sovereignty in the Jordan Valley during the Knesset plenum debate on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's immunity from prosecution on corruption charges.

Peretz said, "Smotrich's proposal is an irresponsible political spin that indicates what the next government will look like and therefore another government must be formed. The future of the Jordan Valley should be determined as part of negotiations and an overall settlement, not a [political] hijack." He added, "I expect Blue and White to announce its opposition so Smotrich's dangerous games will be nipped in the bud."
