Labor-Gesher Chairman Amir Peretz said, Thursday, "If the Joint List undertakes to enter into partnership with a Zionist government, there is no reason to reject it. This means that what's in common has changed."

Responding to Joint List Chairman Ayman Odeh's statement that he would help Blue and White Chairman Benny Gantz preside as the next prime minister, Peretz added, "This should be seen as an important move that may change the worldview of Israeli Arabs and their affiliation with Israeli society from end-to-end, which may ease tensions between the Arab and Jewish populations in Israel." He concluded, "Despite that, it's hard for me to believe that the move will pass because of [the] Balad [Party]'s presence on the list."
