Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, Tuesday, "I was forced to resign in order to protect the honor of the Foreign Ministry."
His remarks reinforce the possibility that the resignation stemmed from his being left out of the visit by Syrian President Bashar Assad to Tehran.
