It was disclosed, Sunday evening, that Border Guards thwarted the smuggling of handguns from Jordan.
They arrested a Palestinian Authority resident about the age of 40 who was carrying a large backpack as he crossed the border in the northern Jordan Valley. A search of the bag produced 37 handguns of various makes. Three residents of the Samarian PA city of Shechem who allegedly waited for him were arrested on suspicion of intending to help the gun runner escape.
