Stan Lee, the man behind Marvel comics has passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 95.
Born Stanley Martin Lieber, the son of Romanian-Jewish immigrants in New York, he made Marvel a competitor for DC comics in the 1960's and was helped when Marvel's characters became the fodder for movies and television.
