The Israel Defense Forces announced, Thursday morning, "In the framework of a situation assessment held this morning by Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot with the participation of senior IDF and Shin Bet [Israel Security Agency] officials, it was decided to reinforce forces in the Southern Command area in the coming days and continue the determined policy to foil terrorist activities and prevent infiltration into Israel in the area of the security fence in the Gaza Strip."
