Retired major general Amiram Levin has responded on his Twitter account to the removal of ambiguity regarding the attack in Syria by saying, "Ambiguity contributes to security." The candidate for the Labor Party chairmanship continued, "Politicians with a big mouth must take credit which is not theirs. Chatter at the expense of security. Politics at the expense of the national interest, irresponsibility."
While the Israel Defense Forces have declined comment on the attack, Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz told IDF Radio, "We are acting to prevent the transfer of sophisticated weapons from Syria to Hezbollah in Lebanon by Iran. When we receive serious information about the intention to transfer weapons to Hezbollah, we will act. This incident is totally consistent with this policy."
