Opposition Leader Yitzhak Herzog told the AIPAC policy convention in Washington Monday that Israel must take advantage of its convergence with moderate Arab states for peace. Given what he called an Arab majority between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, he said Israel must present a vision of hope and said he was impressed by President Donald Trump's commitment to the effort, based on his talks with presidential envoy Jason Greenblatt.

Taking a phrase from Israeli ambassador to Washington Ron Dermer, the Zionist Union chairman said there's "no daylight" between him and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu when it comes to Iran. As for the future, he said the next generation must be strengthened, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement must be combatted, and the US and Israel must be beacons of values.
