The police reported, Thursday morning, that a brush fire broke out near the Maccabim checkpoint on Route 443 and is continuing to spread toward the Modiin Center commercial center.
Highway 443 was closed to traffic. A police helicopter and six firefighting companies are battling the blaze. Residents of Klil Hahoresh, Migdal David and Mishmar Ayalon Streets in Modiin are being told to stay in their homes.
