A senior Defense Ministry official said, Monday, that the appointment ceremony for Rabbi Eyal Karim as chief rabbi of the Israel Defense Forces will take place as scheduled, Wednesday at the ministry's Kirya headquarters in Tel Aviv, despite a Supreme Court order to delay the appointment.
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said the court's decision was not final and that Rabbi Karim was a deserving candidate.
