Member of Knesset Shuli Moalem-Refaeli (Jewish Home) reacted to the Supreme Court ruling against delaying the uprooting of the Samarian Jewish community of Amona by saying, "The High Court decision is further proof of why the judicial selection process must change to represent the entire population."
The sponsor of a bill to normalize the status of unrecognized Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria explained, "The Amona issue is not a legal matter but a political one. When there is a clear move on the part of anti-Israeli elements to undermine our right to the land, the High Court seems inclined in favor of a particular party. Since this is the case, they [High Court judges -ed] should not complain to the public that their status is being eroded. I'm sorry about the [court's] decision, but we will be working with all our power so that the law is approved in the time remaining."
