Arab states have initiated a move to replace Germany's representative on the board of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization with a Swedish representative to chair discussion on final approval of the recent resolution denying non-Muslim connections to Jerusalem.
Germany was one of the six countries voting against the resolution and its representative sought to delay the final vote in order for the resolution to be reworded in a less-extreme way.
