The office of Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority asked Israel's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories to coordinate the participation of Abbas and four senior PA officials in Friday's funeral of Shim'on Peres.
Abu-Mazen is the first Arab leader to ask for such permission. Members of the Joint Arab List in the Knesset do not intend to attend.
