An initial investigation of Friday morning's incident near Kibbutz Ashdot Ya'akov found that the suspect, a mentally unstable man, entered Israel through Jordan earlier in the morning.
He is suspected of throwing rocks at passing vehicles on the road, in order to steal a car. When those attempts were unsuccessful, the suspect fled and shortly afterwards was found by security forces who apprehended him and transferred him for medical treatment.
