Lieberman: All Should Condemn Attack on Rabbi Stav

Chairman Avigdor Lieberman of the Yisrael Beyteinu party said, Monday morning, that all public figures, and certainly the spiritual leaders of all the camps in the religious and hareidi-religious camps should condemn the Sunday-evening attack on Rabbi David Stav, head of the Tzohar rabbinical organization, who is a candidate for Chief Ashkenazic Rabbi.

Lieberman said, "We expect the spiritual leadership, no matter what its view, to vocally condemn - and certainly not to encourage - harm to other religious leader. It's a pity that as part of a political race, and certainly for the role of the chief rabbi, that there are those who have led the public into dark corners like that. The Torah has 70 faces and not one of them is of violence and incitement by one rabbi against another."
