Rabbi Stav Attacked by Shas Followers at Wedding

Chairman David Stav of the Tzohar rabbinical organization was cursed and pushed by followers of the Sephardic hareidi-religious Shas party, Sunday evening at the wedding of the daughter of Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz of the Western Wall and Holy Places, according to a Monday-morning report by the Yediot Acharonot daily.

The newspaper cited other guests at the Bnei Brak event, who said that when Rabbi Stav arrived, youths pushed him. During the dancing, the youths tripped him up and Shas Member of Knesset Ariel Attias made it a point to get away from the candidate for Chief Rabbi.
