Prisons Service Learning Lessons from Zygier Affair

Even though no criminal charges will be placed in the suicide of alleged Australian-Israeli Mossad intelligence agent Ben Zygier, the Israel Prisons Service (IPS) is taking disciplinary action against a number of people who were assigned to monitor him while he was in custody, according to a Thursday evening report by Kol Yisrael government radio.

The IPS said it will finish learning its lessons from the affair soon, noting that great efforts have been made in recent years to reduce suicides in prison.
