Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu praised members of his Likud party, Thursday evening, for the achievements of the ruling coalition. Speaking at a New Year's toast, the party chairman said, "Opposite the regional upheaval around us and the biggest economic crisis in the last 80 years, Israel is an island of stability. There's a great tidal wave rising in the Middle East and we who know where we live are navigating well in front of it and will continue to protect the state of Israel."
Netanyahu continued, "Our governmental stability grants a lot to the citizens and state of Israel. In order to continue this activity and stability, we must pass a responsible budget. From the meetings I held with the heads of the factions, I can say they all want it now. And if we want it, we can do it. It only depends on us. Facing the challenges that Israel faces, it's the right thing for the citizens of Israel. And I am impressed, this evening, that there is a will [for this] so we will meet for a fifth time next year and be sure in the elections."
