The board of the Discount Investments company, which owns the Ma'ariv newspaper, approved on Friday afternoon a budget of an additional 15 million shekels for the newspaper.
The money will be used to pay the employees' salaries and for expenses until after the Tishrei holidays. Employees of Ma'ariv protested in Tel Aviv on Thursday evening, fearing that if funds are not immediately made available, the newspaper may shut down.
